Winchester Beach, the jewel of the Severn
NEW Beach Rules and Guidelines
Winchester Beach is a private beach to be used by community residents and their guest only. The beach sits on one of the best spots on the Severn River. From this vantage point you can see out the mouth of the river toward Annapolis, all the way to the Chesapeake Bay. If you look up the river you can easily see the sail boats moving back and forth in Round Bay. There is not another spot on the entire Severn River with such views. Very much the jewel of the Severn.
Located on the property we have a swing set, play area for children, a pavilion with many picnic tables and several grills to use to use for cook outs. During the summer the community provides a port-a-potty at the far end of the property and running water with a shower to wash off the extra sand from your feet when needed.
As expected, Winchester Beach becomes a very popular location during the summer. Many parents and their young children come to the beach to enjoy a summer day. Families come to fire up the grill and enjoy a cook out dinner while watching the sunset across the Severn. During the season the community plans several events. Starting with the Easter egg hunt that provides fun for many children in the community, it is usually followed by the community cleanup that puts an extra shine on the beach just in time for summer use. During the summer there is usually a series of First-Friday happy hours, that happen on the first Friday of each month. This is usually an impromptu gathering of neighbors who bring a bit of food to have and share along with an evening drink to enjoy with the company of good friends and neighbors.
Each year we have a crab feast for all to enjoy and we usually have another gathering with music and fun that changes a bit from year to year.
We hope to see you there enjoying the view with your toes in the sand and a chance to make a new friend.
